Rhiniog Fawr - Mountain Walk

Join us on Saturday the 22nd of January for a trek into the Rhiniog Range on an attempt to Summit Rhiniog Fawr. The Rhiniogau Mountain Range is formed from some of the oldest rocks in Wales and is the core of the geologically famous Harlech Dome which once towered over this area.

About the event

On Saturday the 22nd of January we are walking up into the Rhiniog Range on an attempt to Summit Rhiniog Fawr - Weather Permitting.

The Rhiniogau Mountain Range are home to some of the least explored hills of Snowdonia, they are formed from some of the oldest rocks in Wales and is the core of the geologically famous Harlech Dome which once towered over this area. Come along to learn more!

The walk is expected to take up to 6 hours and is 12km in distance with approx 600m elevation gained.

You will need:

- Sturdy Walking boots and a set of waterproofs.

- Hat & Gloves.

- Lunch, snacks and a drink.

- Any personal medication you usually carry.

We will meet at the Cross Foxes in Trawsfynydd for a hot drink and a briefing at 08:30 and take a short drive from there to the start point.
